Tatyana Fazlalizadeh comes from a Black and Iranian family from Oklahoma City. She lives currently in Brooklyn, NY, where she paints to create change. She is a visual artist that paints in galleries and streets to address experiences that may be seen as complicated and unfair. One of her most famous works is a piece called "Stop telling women to smile," which is relatively widespread and can be seen on a global scale. Her outstanding works have shown just how influential her works are after winning some noteworthy titles. In 2015 she made it as one of Forbes 30 under 30 recipients. Along with being noticed by Forbes, she has also been mentioned by the New York Times, MSNBC, and many other more significant social media platforms located in New York.
Throughout her life, she has worked on creating change all around and works to bring freedom and equality to African Americans. Tatyana has lectured at multiple museums, including the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and Brooklyn Museum. These are two of many other places she has spoken out. Tatyana's work has been displayed on Netflix's series, "She's Gotta Have it," written by Spike Lee. In this series, she has gained the role of an Art Consultant. Along with her magnificent artwork, Tatyana is going further than just art by working on a book. At the moment, she is also the current "Public Artist in Residence for the New York City Commission on Human Rights," which operates at displaying experiences of anti-black racism and sexual harassment.
